A Life Dedicated to the Wild
Stories and insights from a naturalist whose life is shaped by nature and the mountains.
Stories and insights from a naturalist whose life is shaped by nature and the mountains.
I explore forests, rivers, cliffs, and high-altitude valleys, documenting birds, mammals, and the hidden lives unfolding in the wild. My work is built on patience, fieldcraft, and deep respect for nature.
I have always felt more at home in nature than anywhere else. Sitting, watching, listening to these moments give me clarity, peace, and a sense of belonging. Every journey reminds me that the more I learn, the more I realise how much remains unknown
That curiosity and that respect is what keeps me moving.
If you wish to explore Kinnaur or the Himalayas not as tourists but as learners, observers, and listeners, you’re welcome to join me on a walk, a trail, or a high-altitude expedition.
I spend most of my time travelling across Kinnaur and other Himalayan regions meeting people ,listening , following forest paths, scanning high ridges, and waiting quietly near streams or cliffs to observe a species I’ve been tracking for weeks.
This space brings those experiences together. Here, I share:
Guided experiences for those who wish to explore these landscapes not as visitors, but as observers and learners.
Everything here is connected to the mountains I call home.
From deep valleys to high-altitude habitats birds, mammals, seasonal movements
Where I go, who I meet, and the lessons that stay with me
Images shaped by patience, stillness, and long hours in the field
Small moments, quiet observations, cultural stories, and everything that made me pause, think, or look closer.
A Collective Effort Toward Remembering and Protecting What Lives Here
This calendar was created with support from local communities, guides, elders, and people who continue to live close to wildlife and weather. Each month features a species found in Kinnaur, along with the name people here have used for generations. It’s a small way of keeping our ecological knowledge and cultural memory intact.
My work is rooted in field observation, walking, tracking, learning, and asking questions. The photographs in this calendar come from those hours outside, in changing light and shifting seasons.
A part of every calendar goes back into conservation efforts in Kinnaur: awareness programs, habitat documentation, and community-led initiatives that help protect wildlife.
This project is not just mine. It belongs to everyone who has shared stories, names, sightings, directions, or even a warm cup of tea on a cold day.
If you know old names, behaviour notes, or have a memory related to any of these species, you’re welcome to share it through the website.
A living journal of species profiles, rare encounters, conservation stories, and research notes straight from the remote valleys of Kinnaur. A space where science meets storytelling.
Interactive, beginner-friendly workshops where participants learn bird identification, habitat behaviour, and ethical field practices, through real on-ground experiences.
A guided learning experience into high-altitude habitats, tracking signs, understanding snow leopard behavior, and meeting the communities working to protect them.
Every image is captured in natural habitats with zero interference, no baiting, no setups.
Years in the mountains help me read species behaviour and habitats with lived understanding.
I work confidently in extreme Himalayan terrain, knowing its weather, risks, and wildlife.
Much of what I know comes from conversations with shepherds, elders, and people who live close to the land.
